The National Highway Sector Scheme was developed in partnership with industry, Highways Agency (HA),
County Surveyors Society (CSS) and other interested organisations.
All Highway Agency work and let work under the RSMA StanSpec
requires Road Marking companies to be qualified to Sector 7.
The Sector 7 Scheme Document is a live document and the Advisory Committee meets at least once a year to develop as appropriate.
NB: (Those using the document should always ensure that they are using the current version.)
Sector 7 details the Quality Management System requirements of the Road Marking supplier and interprets the requirements
of the British Standard BSEN ISO 9001:2000, both documents should be used in conjunction with each other.
The Scheme is applicable to all organisations carrying out, application, installation, maintenance
and removal of Road Marking materials and Road Studs to road surfaces.
The Sector Scheme document is applicable to the following material types:

There are many elements to the Quality Management Requirements of Sector 7, including CSCS
(Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Registration for all Road Marking Operatives on site.
There are three acceptable CSCS Categories; Trainee, Experienced Works Card and Full CSCS Skill Card.
